Charlie Duck - Floats Road
CHARLIE DUCK
Floats Road
25 July 2018 – 23 September 2018
Preview: 24 July 2018, 6.30 – 8.30pm
Pump House Gallery is delighted to present the first institutional solo exhibition by Charlie Duck, who lives and works between London and Germany. Presenting a series of new large pigment works on paper, alongside ceramics and smaller studies, Floats Road continues Duck’s fascination with history, form and the unreliability of narrative.
Varied in scale, his pigment works are expressive and do not rely on a fixed subject, but rather hint at forms and motifs, often pulling together subjects from his day to day routines as well as wider historical or literary tropes.
ART NIGHT 2018
Performances:
8pm, 11pm – Anneke Kampman at Pump House Gallery
9.30pm – Adam Christensen at Battersea Park Pleasure Gardens
Pump House Gallery presents performances as part of the exhibition, We are having a little flirt, that invite audiences to engage with the unknowable possibilities of flirting.
Anneke Kampman presents a new performance that forms part of a new series of works by Kampman that address the capitalistic functions of the music-video form.
Adam Christensen presents a new performance in relation to Nicolas Deshayes’ site-specific sculptural installation in Battersea Park Pleasure Gardens. Engaging with Deshayes’ use of bodily form and urban infrastructure, Christensen will perform a series of readings and songs linked to his work in the exhibition We are having a little flirt at Pump House Gallery.
